It is vital to disseminate factual information that can potentially save lives.
HIPAA and Duty to Warn
Ms. Ayo is trained in how to appropriately handle confidential information of students and families (HIPAA). I must uphold my duty to warn and protect students from harm. I take these duties very seriously as safety is most important.
LGBTQ Youth
The data shows that LGBTQ students are bullied more frequently than other students. In addition LGBTQ students are more likely to suffer from depression and be more prone to suicide. Those students may need support if they are not accepted by their peers and/or their families. They will always have a safe space with Ms. Ayo.
