MY BODY IS MINE PLEDGE

TELL THE CHILDREN THE TRUTH!
Take the FREEMY BODY IS MINE pledge with ANY children in your life. I have dealt with Child Sexual Abuse as both a survivor and a counseling professional. Maintain the lines of communication at all times. Ask your children about old and new individuals in their lives. According to the CDC (2016) 60% of all children that are abused KNOW the abuser and 30% are related to the abuser.

This pledge can be used by varying ages. Make sure that your child knows that their body safety is more important than ANY relationship they have with an adult or teen. Leave your child the space to come to you if any one harms them.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
1
LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Ask Ayo created this platform to facilitate, the "uncomfortable-comfortable" conversations that children, young adults and their families were NOT having. Parents/Caregivers and School Districts are often in the dark about the challenges students are facing. Topics such as sexual assault, unplanned pregnancies, underage drinking, sexually transmitted infections, dating violence and abuse are overlooked or ignored. In a recent interview Ms. Ayo shared this "We are missing the opportunity to educate young people about the difficult topics because it makes the adults uncomfortable. By leaving them uneducated we leave them vulnerable".
Ms. Ayo has over 15 years experience providing mental health services,
counseling and education to a diverse group of students from Pre-K through college.
2
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
AND ADVOCACY
Counseling & Prevention Education Services that support the ACADEMIC-SOCIAL-PERSONAL & CAREER goals of students K-12 as well as College students and families.
3
YOUTH-LED DISCUSSIONS AND WORKSHOPS
Ask Ayo's goal is to ENGAGE, EDUCATE and EMPOWER the youth, families and schools that she serves. The youth must have a voice so that the services provided will uplift. The youth must lead and identify the issues that they struggle with. When you allow the client to take direction of their own lives, the benefits of counseling increase tenfold.
Mental Health Counseling
Ms. Ayo has both an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Otterbein College and Masters Degree in Counseling from The University of Dayton. She has over 15 years experience counseling students and families in school and community settings. Ms. Ayo utilizes Solution-Focused therapy and Cognitive-Behavior therapy in her individual and group counseling sessions.

Sexual Health
ASK AYO will provide comprehensive sexual health programming to teens and young adults. When youth are informed and know all of their options we prevent unplanned pregnancies as well as reduce the contraction of sexually transmitted infections. It is vital to disseminate factual information that can potentially save lives.
HIPAA and Duty to Warn
Ms. Ayo is trained in how to appropriately handle confidential information of students and families (HIPAA). As a licensed counselor I must uphold my duty to warn and protect students from harm. I take these duties very seriously as safety is most important.
Grief and Crisis Intervention
Grief counseling education and on-the-job training have prepared Ask Ayo to handle crisis situations. She has actively worked with students and staff members in the wake of on campus violence, death, and personal crisis.
LGBTQ Youth
The data shows that LGBTQ students are bullied more frequently than other students. In addition LGBTQ students are more likely to suffer from depression and be more prone to suicide. Those students may need support if they are not accepted by their peers and/or their families. They will always have a safe space with Ms. Ayo.
